Water Damage From Freezing Pipes
Northern Utah, South Eastern Idaho, and Wyoming are all regions that are susceptible to spells of freezing weather. Sometimes this freezing weather can come as early as the beginning of October, leaving homeowners unprepared. One way to prevent water damage due to frozen hose bibs is to make sure that all hoses are disconnected from any outside faucets. If building a home or remodeling, make sure that pipes leading to outside faucets are oriented so that water can be drained out completely. Another thing you can do is install insulated covers for the hose bib. These are a couple of things you can do this fall and winter to prepare your home against possible water damage. If water damage does occur this winter, give us a call and we'll restore your home and your peace of mind.

We respond to hundreds of emergency water damage claims every year- in fact it is the type of work we do the most of on a day to day basis. One question we get a lot from homeowners is: Why does it take 3-4 days to dry when the carpet seems dry after the first day? As with all questions that are asked frequently, we train our technicians to explain the why before it even needs to be asked, but sometimes an extra explanation is needed. Drying a building, whether it be a home or a commercial building, can be quite complex. The short answer to the question above is simply, dry wall and other porous materials such as base board take longer to dry than carpet. Sometimes the water seeps under the drywall and gets behind it or it creeps up and is absorbed. This is why it is imperat
