ARS Idaho Cleaning Up After Jefferson Fire

With summer in full swing, and temperatures rising the chances of fires increase as well.  Sean Stark and the ARS crew in Rigby, Idaho are cleaning up smoke damage to homes in Terreton, Idaho near the Mud Lake area due to the Jefferson fire. While in the area Sean said "Your driving along green fields and all of a sudden it looks like your on the moon & that's what it looks like for miles."  The fire started near the Idaho National Lab and has been dubbed the "Jefferson Fire".  Sean and his crew are working to help the homeowners near the fire whose homes have been affected by the smoke to cleanup the damage and restore their homes back to normal.  For more information on the fire, click here to see the articles on www.localnews8.com.

Cache Valley Fireman's Ball a Success!

ARS participated and was a sponsor of the first annual Cache Valley Fireman's Ball this last Saturday.  The night was a success and those participating were able to raise over $2,000 for training and equipment for the fire departments in Cache Valley.  We had a lot of fun eating a great dinner catered by the Elements, enjoying a silent auction, raffle and music to dance to.  We appreciate the efforts of all those helping and participating in the event and the fireman who help keep our community safe!

April Showers Bring May Flowers & Floods

When it comes time for spring to be here, I am ready for the warmth.  In Northern Utah, Idaho & Wyoming, mother nature sometimes likes to throw us all a curve and instead of April Showers bringing May flowers, it brings more rain, snow and flooding.  Lately all of our offices have seen an influx of roof damage & leaks, water damage from turning on an outside faucet that unbeknownst to the homeowner was frozen over the winter, and sprinkler systems or hoses that fill up the window wells.  These types of water damage is what I like to call a homeowners "Spring Sting"-right when you are ready to enjoy the outdoors and work in the yard, the weather ruins your plans by creating a problem indoors.  If you do have a water damage problem, ARS responds quickly & can take care of the whole process so you don't have to deal with it.  Remember- Got a Mess?  Call ARS!

Wind Damage Restoration & Repairs

First there was warmth & sunshine, melting the snow rapidly and causing some floods.  Then came the hurricane speed winds and more snow to top off the beginning of this spring season.  At ARS we not only cleanup after floods & fire damage, but we also repair homes after wind or storm damage.  We've cleaned up after the weight of snow has broken a porch, or wind has torn off siding, blown off shingles or any other imaginable thing.  We not only cleanup the damage mother nature causes, we repair the home back to its normal state.  If you've had siding or shingles torn off due to the recent wind, give us a call & our ARS technicians will get you taken care of.

Spring Home Maintenance Tips

Today's home maintenance tip is on one of the culprits of water damage to a home in the spring.  During the spring rain and snow melt, we get a few calls from water damage in a basement from water runoff.  The major things to look for around your home are first to make sure that your yard slopes away from your house and window wells.  If the slope is correct, it can save you from a number of other potential water sources as well.  Second, in some areas it may be necessary to build a proper storm drainage area in the yard.  Third, being aware of water runoff paths and securing your home with sandbags or other means to divert the water away from the home is also imperative to prevention.  For more prevention tips, call the ARS location nearest you!
